GEPOFLEX® SE and SES are surface and flow improvers for plastics and rubber processing – developed above all for rotational sintering, the rotational moulding process.
They are applied to the mould surface, not to the part: they seal the mould, create a slip and release film, and ensure that the material flows cleanly and the finished part can be removed easily.
This is what sets GEPOFLEX® SE apart from many release agents. It is completely silicone-free and does not transfer to the plastic part.
In practice that means: no flame treatment, no washing, no post-treatment before the next production step. Your parts can be painted, printed and bonded without an intermediate stage. Once silicone has entered a process it is hard to get rid of – here the problem does not arise in the first place.
GEPOFLEX® SE is the standard grade for common materials. Particularly suitable for LLDPE, PE and PP as well as for rubber compounds.
GEPOFLEX® SES is the reinforced grade for materials that are difficult to release or tend to stick – such as XPE or copolactam. Where a standard release agent reaches its limits and parts come out of the mould only with force, or not at all, SES is the right choice.
If you are unsure which grade suits your material, just ask. It takes two sentences to clarify and saves you a failed attempt on a running machine.
Material sticking to flanges and mould edges costs time on every cycle and means reworking the part. Corrosion on steel moulds eventually costs the mould itself.
GEPOFLEX® SE addresses both in a single operation – and improves the surface of the parts coming out of the mould along the way. On large rotational moulds with long parting lines in particular, that makes a noticeable difference over a shift.
Shake the can well before use. Spray onto the cleaned and degreased mould surface from a distance of 20 to 30 cm and rub in with a soft cloth. Rub in any excess material after spraying.
Avoid runs so that the material does not sink in.
GEPOFLEX® SE is the processing aid within a programme that covers the whole of rotational moulding: machinery from Polivinil Rotomachinery, moulds from BOCA and the matching compounds – together with the application support that comes from more than 50 years of polymer chemistry.
